Consultation for Therapists
Thank you so much for your interest in professional consultation. I have been a psychotherapist for over 25 years, an EMDR therapist for over 16 years and a specialist in chronic pain and chronic health conditions for over 14 years. I provide specialized consultation to other professionals for treating clients with chronic pain and chronic health conditions using EMDR, both the standard therapy protocol as well as advanced EMDR protocols and other nervous system based interventions to promote healing. I further assist professionals to understand the neurobiology and physiology of these conditions in order to determine the best treatment methods and modalities given their clients' specific past and present life and health circumstances.
Chronic pain and chronic health conditions rarely exist without other co-occurring disorders. While I have specialized in treating chronic pain and chronic health conditions for the past 14 years, during this time I have also continued to work with complex PTSD, depressive and other mood disorders, severe anxiety issues, process and substance addictions, and personality disorders. Furthermore, prior to working with pain and health conditions, I specialized in treating children and adolescents for over 16 years in outpatient, hospital settings, and residential environments of care. Trauma and attachment disruptions were primary issues of focus as well as working with clients who were marginalized. Finally, I have extensive experience treating military personnel, veterans and law enforcement officers. This background and my focus on a true integrated interventional approach offers clinicians who seek consultation the opportunity to conceptualize care in ways that are new and very beneficial to both them and their clients.
